Queer Coffee and Fast Friends

It is in times like this when I feel most alive. The smells of fresh coffee and baked goods floating through the air. Lush colors overwhelm my senses euphorically, as differing patterns dance in my brain. There is a soft hum of conversation and two friends playing music together. Here I feel comfortable, safe, and welcomed with open arms.

This coffee shop opened up around a month ago in Knoxville, TN. It celebrates queerness, creating a space where people can come together and be able to be ourselves and come together to celebrate our love.

This is the bathroom! So cute!!!

The space was so welcoming. I felt able to easily talk to everyone inside. I was immediately drawn to a small group of people, we talked for a few hours. We swapped stories about romance and sex; love and hate. We talked about the world that we live in, the possibilities that await, and the challenges we are excited to overcome. We told tales of art, expression, and culture. We sang about love and pain and fear, knowing that this pain is something we have all felt. While also knowing this love is one that will last.

It was a beautiful moment in time.

Oh and of course there was coffee!

If you are ever and Knoxville, Tennessee. This is definitely the place to go!

Well, that is all I have for this post. Have a beautiful rest of your day everyone!

Sending my love,

Keira Waters
